GUIDED WALKING TOURS OF BRADFORD
Find your roots
We can take you back to absorb the history and the heritage of your family and your roots in Bradford.
We can visit streets where your ancestors lived and the premises where they worked and we work with a genealogist who is able to undertake more detailed research looking at family histories.
Nigel Grizzard who leads the tours has been guiding for over 20 years. A prominent local historian and passionate about Bradford’s industrial heritage he is the go to person for enquiries about Bradford. Nigel ran the ‘Making their Mark’ Heritage Lottery Fund project on the contribution Jews made to the building of Bradford.
We can help with family research. If you have a question or a request, contact us, we’re usually able to help and if not, we can certainly find someone who can help.
We specialise in guided walking tours
The walks last between one and a half and two hours and bring to life the story of the people who built the great industrial city of Bradford and the Mills that powered the city’s industry.
We see the magnificent Victorian legacy and visit buildings and heritage sites.
The walks can be arranged for groups and organisations and we also run a programme of public walks listed on our website.
Walking Tours include:
• Little Germany – Bradford’s historic merchant quarter and the City Centre
• Manningham and Heaton – the villas of Bradford’s Victorian Merchants
• The Mills of Saltaire
• Bradford’s Jewish Heritage
• Bradford’s ethnic heritage
We can arrange special interest walks in Bradford.
Our basic charges for a half day tour are £100, for a full day £160. If numbers are large – over 15 in a group, there may be further costs.
